With the intention of extracting wisdom from the words of the great Martin Luther, Lucas Magnin presents some aspects of the mission of the church, its doctrine, and theological reflection points at the time when Luther drafted his theses and the implication for a new generation of believers in the twenty-first century who face new social issues and different dynamics.

This book is a hermeneutical exercise that seeks  to bring Luther closer to us, presenting  him from this side of history and placing  him in dialogue with the current conflicts of our faith (so similar and so different from those of his own time). We are going to extract, from that prolific quarry we call Martin Luther, an invaluable treasure for meditating on the complexities and urgencies of Christian discipleship today.

These 95 theses for the new generation seek to extract the wisdom that exists in the legacy of the great reformer: in his thought and his biography, in the courage of his questions and the labyrinth of his answers, in his brilliant successes and also in his shameful mistakes. Luther is of little use to us as an amulet: we need him, rather, as a mirror that helps us to look at ourselves better and also to see the face of the Master.
