  • About the Contributor(s) Alfred Edersheim (1825-1889) nacido en Austria, en el seno de una familia judía acomodada, cursó estudios sobre la Thora y...Alfred Edersheim (1825-1889) nacido en Austria, en el seno de una familia judía acomodada, cursó estudios sobre la Thora y el Talmud en escuelas rabínicas y de lenguas en la Universidad de Viena. Al emigrar a Hungría, se convirtió al cristianismo por la influencia del presbiteriano escocés John Duncan, marchó a Escocia, donde cursó estudios de teología en el New College de Edimburgo y fue ordenado ministro de la Iglesia presbiteriana en 1846. En 1875 se unió a la Iglesia Anglicana, dedicándose a dar conferencias sobre judaísmo y cristianismo en la Universidad de Oxford, que finalmente se convertirían en gruesas obras literarias.
