    Lucas L. Johnson II, a Memphis, Tennessee native, is a former reporter for the Associated Press where he worked for twenty-two years. His news coverage included politics, education, health care, religion, and entertainment. One of his most notable stories was the discovery of an old audio reel in a Chattanooga, Tennessee, attic that contained an unheard recording of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lucas also broke a follow-up story in which magician David Copperfield purchased the newly discovered audiotape and donated it to the National Civil Rights Museum. In January 2016 Lucas became director of media relations at Tennessee State University. Finding the Good was his first book. It has been featured on National Public Radio and numerous other media outlets.
